Delivery of Care

  • Enable Residents to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Carry out nursing procedures, following agreed care plans and protocol under supervision of Registered Nurse on duty.
  • Promote effective communication and relationships.
  • Encourage Residents, rights, choices and independence.
  • Understand and ensure safe working practices at all times.
  • Assist and contribute to minimise the effects of disruptive behaviour and protect individuals from abuse.

Working in a Team

  • Work effectively and efficiently with colleagues to achieve the goals of the job.
  • Share information, skills and experiences with each other.
  • Actively work to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Attend and contribute to regular staff meetings when required.
  • Maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
  • Respect all health professionals EG: Registered Nurses, Managers, GP’s, Social Workers etc visiting the Home.
  • Liaise and respect relatives and friends of Residents.
  • Communicate effectively and ensure all lines of confidentiality are adhered to.

Managing Self

  • Actively participate in training programmes to promote self-development.
  • Participate in supervision and annual appraisal system.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in line with the uniform policy.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality levels.

National Minimum Wage.

Working week - contracted hours / full time / part time:
20 hours per week, various shifts, to be confirmed by employers.

Care certificate preferred but training can be given.
