Admin Assistant - Glenaire Primary
The role will involve working as a member of the office team under the direction of the school administrator. The employee will develop office management and basic admin and secretarial skills. This will involve answering the telephone and dealing with queries from parents by telephone or at the door. There will be an element of signing in late pupils and receiving visitors.
The role will involve general administrative duties to support the efficient running of the school office and school as a whole, including reprographics, sorting and filing of paperwork and when appropriately trained, typing and producing letters and documents.
The role will also involve escorting children and visitors around the building and assisting the senior leadership team with administrative tasks. There will be an element of resource management and general organisation, such as managing and maintaining general stock and distribution of this to teachers. This will also include reorganization of items held in storage, to create efficient and well-organised resource areas.
The employee will have the opportunity to develop secretarial and office management skills at a beginner level and also receptionist experience which could be applied to other settings. Training will be given in all elements of the administrative assistant role, and where the employee shows the aptitude, experience of website maintenance, minute taking and other school-specific skills could be developed.

Essential and desirable skills:
Intermediate level of fluency in English is essential, as is functional level of reading and writing. GCSE English and Maths are preferable. Experience of working with others as part of a team would be useful. Word-processing skills would be an asset.
Training provided in-house in all tasks required. Support from senior leadership team with writing applications and CVs. Careers guidance for future training or qualifications if relevant.
