Admin Assistant – International Opportunities - University of Bradford

Job Description
Main Purpose of Role
The candidate will form part of the Employer and Placement Services Team within Career and Employability Services. They will work alongside the International Opportunities Assistant (IOA) and International Opportunities Coordinator (IOC). The IOC will supervise their work and provide general support. The candidate will experience various aspects of administration (e.g., checking Databases for information accuracy), promotion (e.g., development of marketing materials) and development of international opportunities (e.g., contribute towards the Summer International Opportunities Abroad). The candidate will also develop awareness how going abroad to Study and/or Work can boost student’s employability prospects
Main Duties
-Support with the 2021 Summer International Opportunities cohort: short international programmes, Erasmus+ Work Placements and Overseas Placements. This includes but is not limited to searching for internships and short international opportunities abroad based on specific programmes.
-Support with the advertisement of International Opportunities Workshops and Talks, including follow-up and co-delivery of at least one Workshop.
-Support with the creation of marketing materials based on Exchange Student’s Photo Competitions and/or live testimonials.
-Creation and use of Excel sheets (with hyperlinks) and Word documents (mail merge).
-Checking internal and external Databases for information accuracy.
-Replying to general emails and phone queries, including shadowing remote and face-toface student appointments.
-Archive of Student documentation in the University Database (eFile).

Weekly Wage
: Minimum Wage – dependant on age

Working week - contracted hours / full time / part time: 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday. To be agreed on Appointment.

Essential and desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email. 
  • Excellent written and oral communications–detail focused, accurate and clear 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Innovative, creative, solution focussed and can work independently or part as a team 
  • GCSE English
