Admin Assistant – Marketing (Open Innovation) - University of Bradford (Kickstart Placement)

Job Description:
We are looking for someone with good organisational skills, an interest in marketing and communications, who can take the initiative and work well with others. The role would suit someone with either administration or marketing/social media experience.
The post holder will receive mentoring and support from members of the Open Innovation team, working closely with the Programme Administrator.
The role will provide opportunities to learn about starting and growing a business, marketing and communications, administration and event management.
This is an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop skills in communication, relationship building, organisation, administration and marketing. Whilst support and guidance will be provided, there is also plenty of opportunity for the post holder to come up with and implement new ideas and take initiative.

Main Purpose of Role
The Administrative Assistant will work within a team engaged in running student and graduate entrepreneurship programmes, in attracting talent to set up companies in Bradford, and in creating opportunities for UK-based innovators to establish international partnerships. This is a varied and sociable role, and provides an opportunity to help others, as well as to support the University and the city.

Main Duties
The role involves internal and external communications including reading and responding to e-mails, maintaining our website, creating promotional and briefing materials, managing social media, including sharing news and updates, liaising with students and entrepreneurs. The role also involves setting up meetings, organising online (and face to face when appropriate) events and helping to create a supportive networking and working environment for new entrepreneurs.

Working week - contracted hours / full time / part time: 25 Hours, Monday-Friday. To be agreed on appointment.

Essential and desirable skills:
-Experience of using a variety of IT packages including Microsoft 
-Good attention to detail and ability to analyse and present information 
-Ability to work as a team member 
-Excellent written and oral communications–detail focused, accurate and clear  
-Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work
-An ability to take initiative and work without supervision
-An interest in marketing, media and communications
-Willingness to learn new skills.
