Admin Assistant: Student Recruitment - University of Bradford (Kickstart Placement)

Job Description:
The Recruitment Support Assistant is responsible for the timely response to a wide range of enquiries via web forms, telephone, email, social media and face to face, providing an exemplary level of customer service at all times.

  • To ensure  that  all  enquiries  are  handled  efficiently  and  effectively  using  the  contact method  initially  used  by  the  enquirer,  adopting  a  one-stop-shop  approach where possible and only making referrals when necessary
  • To develop a knowledge base about University entry requirements and services sufficient to respond to general enquiries, referring more complex enquiries to the Recruitment Support Manager for advice
  • To ensure that all enquiries to the University are effectively captured to enable the effective delivery of a Customer Relationship Management strategy for Home/EU and international undergraduate and postgraduate enquirers and applicants
  • To ensure the effective conversion of enquirers to applicants, by inviting enquirers to events such as Taster Days and Open Days, promoting scholarships and bursaries and providing them with other relevant information to inform their decisions
  • To participate in the delivery of outbound telephone campaigns to enquirers and applicants
  • To be aware of, and contribute to widening access and increasing participation amongst those groups considered to be under represented in Higher Education

Essential and desirable skills:

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience within a customer services focused environment
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
