Artist Support: Yorkshire Academy of Creative Arts & Dance - Kickstart Placement

Job Summary:
The Artist support will learn and develop to enhance delivery of creative arts programmes and undertake work that supports children and young people. The Artist support (AS) will supervise and provide particular support for children ensuring their safety and access to activities. The AS will be able to establish positive relationships with children and interact with them accordingly. The AS will promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children. The AS will encoruage children to interact with others and engage in activiites led by the lead artist. The AS will learn how to provide feedback to children in relation to their achievements in an activity under guidance of the lead artist.

The AS will learn to maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment and learn to use strategies, in liaison with the lead artist, to support children and maintain safe a happy space. They will also learn to assist with the resourcing and setting up of activities and liaise with parents. They will learn to communicate with potential new participates via e-mail or phone and process registrations.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
The essential skills for this role will be that a recent DBS or willingness to undertake one. They must have an adequate understanding of IT and be familiar with social media platforms. Applicants must have achieved level 2 or GCSE qualifications including maths and English. We would expect some experience in an expressive/creative art subject or childcare. We would also expect good customer service is required, the roles will involve front facing environment and working with various groups.

Monday to Friday (5 hours per day)

Hourly rate of pay:
Minimum wage in line with Gov
