Community Artist: Yorkshire Academy of Creative Arts & Dance - Kickstart Placement
The Community Artist will be responsible for creating a range of evening extra curricular creative arts provisions within the community. The community Artist will be responsible for the administration and delivery of the evening and weekend provisions created. They will be responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of creative art sessions.
This will allow the placementee to gain confidence with face to face communication, improve teaching practice within an art form, gain a better understanding of planning and preparing creating art sessions, and planning within a set structure and working towards deadlines.
The Community Artist will be able to establish positive relationships within the community and build upon the company's reputation.
This will allow the placementee to gain better understanding of working within a community, Develop leadership skills and independence, gain experience in liaising with members of the public and partners.
The Community artist will learn to maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment and learn to use skills which will focus on business enterprise, support children and maintain safe a happy space. They will lead with the resourcing and setting up of activities and liaise with members of the communty. They will learn to communicate with potential new participants via email or phone and process registrations.
This will allow the placementee to improve their communication skills, IT skills, learn how to create and establish a safe stimulating environment, and generate resources through creating partnerships with other local organisations. learn basic business enterprise skills.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
The essential skills for this role will be that a recent DBS or willingness to undertake one. They must have an adequate understanding of IT and be familiar with social media platforms. Applicants must have achieved level 2 in Maths or English and hold an A Level qualification in an art form; for example Dance, Music, Drama, Film, Photography e.t.c. We would expect some experience in an expressive/creative art subject or childcare. We would also expect good customer service is required, the roles will involve front facing environment and working with various groups.
