Customer Service Professional (Gateline) - TransPennine Express

Job Description:
Based at Dewsbury Station
To our customers you'll be the face of TransPennine Express so we're looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for customer service and have a warm and welcoming manor.
This role is varied working with customers and colleagues, this could be helping customers with their luggage and any other assistance required to safety help our customers on their way. Or providing train service information, such as train times and platform information, whilst assisting with ticket checking and ticket selling.
Weekly Wage:
£10,703 per annum for 18.5 hours per week. Plus, free travel on TransPennine Express train services for the successful applicants

Working week:
Part Time, 18.5 hours per week. Our trains operate around the clock as do our stations. To ensure our services are appropriately resourced you'll follow a varying shift pattern which can include some early starts, some night time and weekend working in a cross cultural and diverse environment. Please note, due to safety reasons, we cannot consider applications who live more than 50 minutes' drive away from the Dewsbury station.

Qualification and educational requirements:
Equivalent practical numeracy skills that can demonstrate, cash handling, understanding numerical information plus  practical literacy/communication skills that can demonstrate, working with key information/processes and with customers would be considered in place of GSCE Maths and English.

  • Excellent customer service skills in any context, e.g., retail, care, hospitality, leisure in the good times and the bad.
  • Friendly and approachable manner
  • Ability to speak clearly and confidently
  • Smart and well presented
  • Being able to follow rules and compliance, again in any context, following rules or guidelines in workplace. This is because we have lots of adherence to managing passengers on board safely.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft packages
  • Ability to get to and from the above location without relying on the rail service or public transport due to some early shifts start and finish times

Full training will be provided.
