ICT Support Worker - Hill Top CE Primary School and Nursery

Job Description:
Hill Top CE Primary School and Nursery is a small one from entry primary school in BD12. We have a friendly, supportive staff and some lovely children. The ICT Support Worker’s position will be based across school and will be working alongside Class Teachers, our ICT Coordinator, our ICT Technician and our Office Team. The post holder will start at 8.30am and finish at 3.15pm

The job will involve supporting the whole school team in the setting up of and supporting ICT lessons, troubleshooting ICT technical issues and liaising with key people across school in ensuring ICT provision is effective throughout school.

Your day will involve helping to prepare and set up ICT lessons for our children alongside the class teacher and other support staff, working alongside individuals and small groups of children, liaising and working alongside our ICT coordinator and ICT Technician in ensuring our ICT provision is as effective as it can be as well as  liaising with our Office Team with any technical support with which they may be experiencing difficulties. This will all be under the direction and supervision of the two key members of our staff.

Essential and desirable skills:

  • You must enjoy working in a school environment and be confident in your approach to ICT.
  • The ability to work as a reliable member of a team is essential – along with flexibility, the ability to use your own initiative and a good sense of humour.
  • You must have excellent numeracy, ICT and literacy skills (the equivalent of a 4 or above in GCSE ICT, Maths and English) and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Training provided:

  • You will be appointed a mentor within school who will offer guidance and support throughout this placement.
  • You will have opportunities to attend relevant safeguarding, first aid, ICT and health and safety training.
  • You will be working alongside professional and experienced colleagues on a daily basis who will coach and model practices for you.
  • You will also have opportunities to see how ICT technicians work within our own school and across other schools if appropriate.
