Support Worker: Avensis Support - Kickstart Placement
Avensis Support is an organisation committed to providing an excellent residential base for looked after and vulnerable young people (16-18 year).
Our aim is to create experienced, committed, compassionate and passionate teams of people to work with our young people from an entire range of backgrounds, cultures, ages and genders. We are seeking applicants who have a degree of resilience, empathy and patience for working with vulnerable group of young people. Ideally the applicant will hold/or be willing towards achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for the Children and Young People’s Workforce/Youth Work or Health & social care and preferably have experience working (paid/unpaid) with young people in care/residential settings or youth work. Working towards a relevant degree/or obtained.
The canidate will have committing to working with vulnerable young people with complex and challenging needs. We train and supervise young people so they are able to use own initiative and manage in challenging situations.
We will give understanding of Safeguarding and all elements of a child-centre approach (All training will be provided)
The young person is part of an organisations that upholds good value and encourage to be highly motivated to promote an outstanding and inspirational service and also motivate our young people.
The young person will be supported to develop good written, IT and communication skills.
An ability to connect with young people and have resilience
Develop good record keeping and managing logs including up to dates files and logs for young people.
Develop young people in promoting in independence living
Support Young People into education, employment or training.
Some admin and finance work will be taught as part of maintaning records
MUST be available to work variable shift patterns and there
may be occasional sleep in to follow a management on call system as required.
Staff will need to be flexible and adaptable and act as Corporate Role models.

At the end of training, the young person will develop good organisational skills, develop a professional approach, understand mult-agency working. The Young Person will learn to understand targets and how to meet them in a timely manner. Learn to keep records and files. To ensure prepartions for meetings and support Named Key Workers and Team Leaders.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
- An self-initiative approach and keeness to learn. GCSE/Alevels or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Must be over 21 years of age due to nature of work.
- Preferbly working towards a Level 3 social work aspect Diploma or certificate. If not already doing then to show a commitment to do so.
- The candidate must have resiliance and be committed. Good written skills and a professional approach.
- An understanding of Microsoft office would be beneficial and should know how to send emails and briefs.

9am-3pm & 10am-4pm & 3pm-9pm

1- Full training is provided. This includes training around Safeguatrding, Health and Safety and Fire awareness. Food Hygience and GDPR. Shadowing
