Safe Space Alcohol Intoxication Pilot: Safe Spaces Worker - The Bridge Project

Job Description:

The Project Team Leader, employed by Bridge, will be supported by Safe Spaces Workers employed by either agency. 

The Safe Spaces Alcohol Intoxication Pilot will operate 9.30pm -7.30am Friday and Saturday nights until January 2022. We will be working directly with West Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Police and Door Staff who will be our main referral sources.

The project will provide a safe, non-judgmental place for referred individuals who are out in the Bradford night-time economy and suffering acute alcohol intoxication/ including treating minor injuries, diverting inappropriate referrals from emergency departments and enabling individuals to recover until safe for discharge.

We are offering employment contract as follows:

Hours of Work:         
9:30pm – 7:30am  (10 hrs)

1 Post - Friday or Saturday (single shift of 10 hours – please indicate on your application which day you prefer)

Hourly Wage:
£11.94 per hour

Qualification and educational requirements:
To hold a relevant professional qualification, minimum NVQ level 2 (e.g. Social Care, Stewarding/Spectator Safety/Care Worker/Addiction Studies)

Essential and desirable skills:

Or

Minimum 2-year full time equivalent experience

Experience of rapid and sensitive engagement with individuals and delivering care interventions with adults in crisis/ acute distress

Experience of conducting dynamic assessments of needs drawing on a range of information sources and problem solving including appropriate and timely escalation for emergency services

Experience of working alongside, and in partnership with other staff or agencies

Experience of accurate record keeping, recording information on management information / case recording systems and clear verbal communication skills with people at all levels.

Desirable

1st Aid Certificate (current) 3-day course – this will be provided for successful candidates

Experience of working in welfare tents in festivals/ or events

Training provided:
