Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship - Training Provider: Shipley College
To successfully train to become a Teaching Assistant by working under the close supervision of the teacher to support the delivery of education and care to pupils with communication and interaction needs and severe learning difficulties.

32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only

Duration – Perm / temp
You will receive a contract of employment to cover the apprenticeship period. After that period a review will take place and a permanent position may be offered with the organisation although cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
Qualification and educational requirements
GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5 or above) Essential
Essential and desirable skills
- Good communication skills.
- Basic ICT skills.
- Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to the school, its pupils, parents or carers. Awareness of child development.
- Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
You will attend lessons at Shipley College 1 day a week to complete the off the job training requirements of the apprenticeship.
