Apprentice Business IT Support Technician

Job Description: Training role to develop IT helpdesk skills, a broad range of IT support skills, including PC and server troubleshooting, Azure & Microsoft 365, IT security and IT systems & network installation & configuration skills, leading to an IT industry recognised Level 3 qualification

Weekly Wage:
Starting £269.23 pw, rising in line with skill level, technical qualifications achieved and performance

Working week - contracted hours / full time / part time: Full time, 37.5 hpw, normally Mon-Fri 9am to 5:30pm of which at least 7.5pw are study time/off the job training hours

Number of vacancies:

Duration – Perm / temp: Apprenticeship duration is 15 months. If the candidate completes the apprenticeship programme successfully, a permanent full time position in our IT support team may be offered.

Qualifications and Level of Education required for role: Minimum requirement - GCSE Maths & English Language at grades A*-C/6-9). Desirable – 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C/6-9 including Maths and English Language, 2 or more A levels at grades A*-C (but not in a computing/IT subject, since this would likely disqualify the candidate from taking up a level 3 apprenticeship).

Driving Licence Required? (Yes/No): Not essential, but definitely would be advantageous

Essential and desirable skills:


  • candidate must have a genuine interest in building a long-term career in IT and have a good general understanding, as an end-user, of very basic networking principles, operating systems, hardware & software.
  •  Self-motivated, fast learner, logical thinker, good at problem solving. Already developing good verbal & written communication skills
  • Good listener, clean & professional appearance, methodical, flexible as and when circumstances require
  •  DBS Enhanced check will be required. This is to satisfy requirements of some of our customers.


  • any previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g. shop, café, restaurant etc) or in a call centre or similar environment.
  •  tidy & organised worker, who is confident & assertive

Training provided: On the job technical and customer service training provided by Cosurica. Off the job technical training provided by QA (Leeds-based IT training provider).
