Great Horton Jobs Fair - May 2026

A successful Locality Jobs Fair took place at the Great Horton Hub & Library, bringing together local residents, employers, and community organisations for a day focused on opportunity, confidence building, and career development. The event welcomed 75 attendees and featured 15 employers, training providers, and volunteering organisations, all committed to supporting the community into work, training, and meaningful activity.

The fair provided a friendly and accessible space for people to explore job vacancies, discover training pathways, and receive practical advice to support their next steps.

Some of the employers and community partners who supported the event included McDonald’s, DWP, Be Caring, Bradford College, and volunteering organisations such as Barnardo’s.

Attendees were able to speak directly with employers about current vacancies, learn about training opportunities, and explore volunteering roles that help build confidence and experience.

Residents shared positive reflections on the support they received:

  •  “I found the event really helpful. Speaking to employers made me feel more confident about applying for jobs.”
  •  “It was great to see so many opportunities in one place. I’ve already applied for two roles I found at the fair.”
  •  “The CV and interview advice was brilliant. I left feeling much more prepared.”

The event highlighted the value of local collaboration in helping residents take positive steps towards employment, training and volunteering. By bringing opportunities directly into the heard of the community, the fair supported people to build confidence, develop skills and connect with organisations ready to help them to progress.

SkillsHouse Bradford continues to offer all-age careers support, providing guidance, training and employment advice to residents across the district.
