How You Can Engage
Work Experience Placements
Many businesses in Bradford District already open their doors to work placements – could you be one of them?
Work experience placements are an important first step in developing the skills necessary to find and stay in work. For many young people the thought of starting work is quite daunting. Often schools arrange work placements for their students to help build skills and confidence.
Workplace Visits
Workplace visits are a great way to introduce young people to your field of work. Young people will value finding out more about your industry and whether it could be career option for them. They are also a good way of attracting new talent, especially if you work in a niche area that many might not be aware of.
School Assembly
Schools appreciate local businesses presenting information to students as part of careers events. This is a great way for you to explain what you do and can help to attract young people to your sector.
Supported Internships
Supported internships provide valuable opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities to transition into the workplace. They can bring real benefit to your business by creating a more diverse workforce with people who think differently, and can help to improve your workplace culture and approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Interview Practice
Would you be able to offer your time to give students a practice interview in the run up to applying for college, university or a job?
If you would like to get involved with any of these interventions, please get in touch
