Course Description:
Northern Rail & Network Rail have regular job opportunities within Bradford and Leeds, job roles include, customer service assistants, cleaning operatives, conductors, administration officers, cyber security technicians including many more. This course will support applicants with the knowledge of what it is like to work in the Rail Industry.

You Will Gain
WorldHost Principles of Customer Service Level 2 City & Guilds Customer Service and Level 1 NCFE Employability Certificate Essential Digital Skills as well as undergo Work Experience with both Network Rail and Northern Rail (6 days). In addition there will be a guaranteed interview at the end of the programme

You Will Find Out More About
Types of roles available Career paths Day in the life of customer service in the rail industry and Apprenticeships available. At the end of the course you will be able to apply for live vacancies and meet the HR team. Over the three weeks you will spend 6 days on site in Customer Service, Security, Operational and Engineering to gain a real feel for a career with both Network Rail and Northern Rail.

We are holding information days on 14th October face to face in Leeds at 10am and 2pm , and again on 18th October online at 10am and 2pm. Refer to the Shipley College events page to book onto the information sessions.

Provider and location:
Shipley College, Network Rail and Northern Rail. Sessions will have a blended learning approach i.e classroom and with some practical sessions. Classroom sessions take place at Shipley College.

Date and Duration
:
This course will take place everyday Monday to Friday, from 31st October to 18th November, times vary.

  • L2 Customer Service - WorldHost and City & Guilds
  • L1 NCFE Employability / Essential Digital Skills Qualification
  • Work experience and guaranteed interview with Network Rail and Northern Rail

Required qualification and educational requirements for attendance
Anyone 18+ unemployed can attend this course. You will need a Level 1 or Grade 4 (D) in maths & English. However, the College provides an initial assessment to determine your level.
