About the course:
Incommunities are recruiting for Grounds Maintenance Seasonal Operatives in Bradford and surrounding areas. Carrying out a broad range of landscaping tasks as part of a supervised team. Incommunities is a vibrant organisation managing over 21,400 homes for rent and more than 1,000 leasehold properties across the Bradford District. You’ll be joining Incommunities at an exciting time as we strive to further develop our teams of skilled professionals in delivering first-rate services to our customers. Shipley College is working with Incommunities to deliver a Level 1 Certificate with a Level 1 Employability Pre-Employment Training Course. This 5-week course takes place at Shipley College followed by a guaranteed interview with Incommunities for a grounds person.

About the role:
The role itself is very physical. You will be required to carry out a variety of grounds maintenance works, mainly using walk-behind mowers, strimmer’s, site clearance works including litter picking, and the removal of bulk refuse & fly tipping. You will work as part of a team with
colleagues, trainees and local residents across the whole district of Bradford to help maintain and improve the environment. You will be supervised and self-supervising, and will receive appropriate support, guidance and training. You may be required to work outside normal working patterns
when required (with short notice). If successful in being offered employment you must be able to meet at the depot for the start of the shift. Practical experience in horticultural work is an advantage, but training and practical experience will be given during the Pre-Employment Training.
Your working hours for this role will be Monday to Friday 07.30 to 17.00 for a 26-week period.

What you will do:
In the first five weeks, you will complete the following:
● Level 1 Certificate in Horticulture
● Level 1 Award in Employability

Entry requirements:
You will need GCSE Grade D or above in maths and English,
however if you do not have this, the College will provide an
initial assessment to ensure your suitability.

Costs:
No costs included: This is a free course for anyone who is 19+,
unemployed or earning under £21,255.00

Length of course & time commitment per week:
5 weeks from Monday to Friday from 9am - 4.15pm each day.

You must attend one of these sessions. You will find out all the
information you will need.
15th January 2024 - Eastbrook Court JCP 10.30am start OR
24th January 2024 - Westfield House JCP 10.30am start
