SkillsHouse Staff Member Receives New Year's Honour!
Everyone at SkillsHouse Bradford sends their congratulations to colleague Nazim Ali on being nationally recognised in the King’s New Year Honours list! Nazim, who works for the Council as a careers adviser has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for his services to charity and homeless & vulnerable people in Bradford.
On top of his full time job, Nazim founded the Creating Smiles Hospital Gifts Initiative, which has made more than 44 major donations to children’s wards at both Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale Hospital.
Nazim, who has worked as a careers adviser in the SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education Team for 17 years, has also set up the Khidma Community Kitchen, which provides hot food to homeless and needy people in Bradford.
In addition, Nazim regularly donates food parcels to those in need overseas and has run a number of 10k races while fasting during Ramadan to raise money for charity.
