Youth Employment Week 2025
Monday 7th July marks the start of Youth Employment Week 2025! Celebrating the potential of young people and their contribution to the District’s workplaces, this week gives us the chance to acknowledge their ideas, energy and ambition.
As one of the youngest cities in the country, Bradford has more reason than most to place importance on our emerging workforce, and to support them in realising their potential. Being the all-age careers service for the District, Employment and Skills is ideally placed to work with young people in a number of different ways:
- Employment support through SkillsHouse, helping to find suitable local vacancies
- Useful courses to enhance work-readiness through Skills for Work, such as CV building and interview practice
- Curriculum support for schools through Careers and Technical Education, working to plug gaps between education and the skills employers are looking for
By working together, the different teams within Employment and Skills, along with local partners and stakeholders, aim to provide Bradford’s young people with the support network they need to find and sustain long-term employment opportunities which benefit themselves and the community.
For more information on what we can offer, go to www.skillshouse.co.uk or www.skills-for-work.co.uk or telephone 01274 437373.
Youth Employment Week is devised and promoted by Youth Employment UK, an organisation tackling youth unemployment in lots of different ways. You can find out more about them and the resources they offer by visiting www.youthemployment.org.uk
