Work Experience Placements. Can you help?
For many young people, the thought of starting work is quite daunting. To help ease any fears whilst giving the student an insight into a particular job, often schools arrange for their students to go on a work placement. Many businesses in the Bradford District already open their doors to work placement students - could you be one of them?
See below for more information, and contact us if you have any questions or would like to offer placements.
Going on a work experience placement is an important part of developing the skills necessary to be successful in finding and staying in employment. Do you think you could host a placement student in your business? Placements usually last for 1 or 2 week blocks, or 1 day a week over a longer period. Our Xperience team can support you through the process in the following ways:
We have fully qualified Health & Safety officers who will visit your premises and talk you through the necessary safety precautions needed to be adhered to when hosting a student. At the same time, they will check the environment and note any prohibitions.
The Xperience team will handle all liaison between yourself, the school and the student. You will be given written documentation outlining the agreement, giving you details of the student and emergency contact details of the school.
We are aware that employers sometimes go through busy periods where it is impossible to give a student the time and attention they need. If at any time this happens in your business, just give us a call and we will ensure that any placements will not be available until such time as you can accommodate again.
Our team is made up of highly experienced members, who have been working for many years in this field. We provide support and advice for employers and schools about quality work placements, legal duties of care, safeguarding and health & safety requirements. Please do get in touch if you have any questions - you can find a contact form for Xperience here.
