What is a Digital Badge?

A digital badge is a smart, simple, and visual way of showcasing your learning that is not normally recognised by other academic qualifications.

It helps you to understand what skills you have developed and lets you share your achievement on your CV, with an employer or prospective employer, or via social media.

The Benefits of Earning Badges

  • They showcase your achievements and experience which are highly valued by employers
  • No achievement is too small to be badged! Any accomplishment, however small, can be the start of a journey to a better future
  • Badges are verifiable. Prospective employers or educational institutions can identify who issued the badge, when and where it was earned, and what criteria were used to earn it
  • You can share your badges via social media or embed them in a CV
  • They will always be there- you can access your badges at any point in the future if you need them for a job application
  • It is completely FREE of charge to create and use a Navigatr account and claim your badges

How Do I Begin Collecting Badges?

What is a Pathway?

A pathway is a collection of badges in a particular industry sector. A pathway helps you to progress through the steps needed to reach a goal.
The motivation through a pathway of learning is provided by breaking it down into steps, which could each be awarded with a digital badge.
Some pathways lead to a specific goal such as further learning, work experience or a job interview.

Where Can I Find Out About the Different Badges and Pathways?

You can find out what badges and pathways are available in the Bradford area by visiting the discover page on the Navigatr website. You can also search by the subject or industry you are interested in or even in other parts of the country.
There are some badges you can earn independently, but in most cases, you will need to talk to your teacher or careers lead at your school if you want to start a pathway.
