Supporting Student Success: Employment & Skills Service offers a range of Student Placements
Following our commitment to increase the number of opportunities we offer, the Employment and Skills service in Bradford Council is proud to reflect on a successful year of supporting student placements. Over the past twelve months, teams across the service have welcomed and mentored a wide range of learners, from school pupils to postgraduate researchers, including:
• 4 T Level students from Shipley College on long term placements (with the service being recognised with an award from Shipley College for excellent partnership work)
• 2 Year 10 students from Beckfoot on one week work experience placement
• 7 Year 12 students from St Bede's and St Joseph's on one week work experience placement
• A year 11 student from Dixons Allerton Academy on one week work experience placement
• 8 Applied AI and Data Analytics MSc students from the University of Bradford in collaboration with HDRC, policy team and transformation
• A PhD researcher from the University of Leeds
• A Masters Degree student from the University of Leeds
• 2 Supported Internships from Coleman training
• We also supported a Masters in Public Health student at the University of Bradford with their dissertation
Feedback has been very positive, with Glory, one of the T Level students saying:
“It's been really amazing to have found a work experience in Bradford Council, I have been able to learn so much and it’s been a great experience right from the start and that is a great bonus to my career and course”.
We are now making plans for supporting more students in the year ahead. If you are interested in securing a placement for one or more of your students, please contact the Council's work experience team, Xperience at xperience@bradford.gov.uk or phone 01274 439600.
